Dining Out
Until there is a well-known gluten free food chain for elegant and/or fast food dining, it takes some planning prior to dining out. Often times, even if you call ahead, there is a chance that the wait staff is not educated on gluten free and mistakes have been known to happen. Triumph Dining offers some great cards in many different languages that help explain the gluten free diet to wait staff and chefs. This company also publishes "The Essential Gluten Free Restaurant Guide" and "The Essential Gluten Free Grocery Guide."
